Our Story
Four years ago, I had a ridiculous idea.
I remember looking at my amber prescription bottles and wondering: What if I spray-painted them hot pink? Would it make taking my daily medication feel just a little more enjoyable?
So I did.
It seems like such a small thing, but every time I reached for those bottles, it made me smile.
And it made me wonder: Why are the bottles we use every day so clinical and uninspiring?
What if they were colorful instead? What if they made us smile? What if they carried a little encouragement—or a bit of humor—when we needed it most?
That ridiculous little idea eventually became Happy Pills.

It started with my own experience taking daily medication and navigating mental health, but the idea became much bigger than that. Whether it’s a prescription, vitamins, supplements, or whatever else helps you take care of yourself, we believe the bottle you reach for every day doesn’t have to feel clinical, joyless, or like something you should hide.
Taking care of yourself shouldn’t make you feel worse.
Today, Happy Pills is run by me and my longtime friend and business partner, Tanya. We’ve been friends for more than 20 years, which apparently wasn’t enough, so naturally we decided to start a company together. 😂
Every Happy Pills bottle is designed and hand-finished by our tiny team in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with entirely too much discussion about colors, fonts, and whether something is funny enough.
Our goal is pretty simple: take one tiny part of everyday life and make it feel a little more joyful.
Because whatever’s inside your bottle, taking care of yourself deserves a little joy.
Health is serious. Your pill bottle doesn’t have to be.
